ALL AGTTA Coaches are USOC and USATT Certified Safe Sport Coaches and ALL have Coaching certificates from either the USATT, ITTF, or both.

Michael Chu

Michael began playing in 1990 has been competing on the collegiate level since 1991. The first tournament was the Westfield Open where he won the U1600 event. He has been coached by and trained with the Chinese regional and national team members. Current estimated U.S. rating is 2000.

 

Jie Chang

Coach Chang has been helping hundreds of table tennis players including youngsters and adults; beginners to advanced players in the past fifteen years. He has the caliber to develop players from novice up to 2300 USATT ratings. Coach Chang gained his expertise not only from well-respected coaches at top table tennis academy, training center and even Chinese National team in China, but also from US Master coaches Richard MacAfee and Christian Lillieroos. Coach Chang possesses unique abilities to make sounds completed table tennis technique so simple to learn and make the table tennis skill acquisition process intriguingly smooth and effortless. He understands the development cycle of the sport and emphasizes on fundamental training and the significance of repetition. He holds this belief: to learn a new skill right in the first time and then nail it. He also insists on the philosophy of learning by playing. Coach Chang has been volunteering his time and experience to the AGTTA coaching program for many years. He was trained in China during his primary school years and won many awards. He has a best USATT best rating over 2000. He was former director of Atlanta Table Tennis Academy. Recently he passed the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) level 3 coach course, the highest international coaching level course. Now he is among top 25 coaches in US who have passed this extremely challenging course. He is ready to help you with your table tennis journey, and are you?

Yan is one of our most dedicated coaches and a favorite training partner for some of our top players. With an emphasis on technique, consistency, and creativity, Yan is able to assist new players with the skills they will need to be successful.

Oscar Rodriguez

Oscar has been a member of AGTTA since 1985 when the club used to be located in Peachtree Hills!  That’s a long time ago!  He has learned the game from local legends Thomas Nunes, George Cooper, James Williams and many more.  Though still learning new shots every day, he has been fortunate to play Tournament Doubles against Jimmy Butler, Scott Butler and Michael Hyatt to name a few.  Oscar has attended Table Tennis Seminars held by highly esteemed national coaches like Scott Preiss and Richard McAfee.  Oscar’s style is an all-around game; from wicked slow loops to off-the-table chops.  Highest League Rating is 1859.

Playing 2-3 times a week, Oscar also enjoys coaching soccer locally with Tysa (F-Level License) and loves playing most sports including tennis, badminton and golf.  Passing on the great game of table tennis is a passion which he’ll do enthusiastically!

Henry Zhou

Henry is a Penhold  Pips out player with a USATT rating of 2045.
He has been playing Table Tennis since he was 8 years old in China.
Certified by USATT  for Coaching kids.
Henry was a member of the winning team 2018 Georgia Games, Georgia Cup Competition,
Known around Atlanta as Atlanta Magic player, Henry has a profound love for the sport and the contributions it has to his health and livelihood.
