11.1 If Customer has purchased a perpetual license of the Software, the License will commence on the day Customer purchases the License and will continue until Customer ceases to use the Software or the License is terminated as set forth below. If Customer has purchased a license for a Subscription Period, or if Customer has purchased Maintenance Services separately (in the case of a Perpetual License), the License and/or Maintenance Services will begin on the date specified in the applicable invoice and will continue for the period specified in the applicable invoice and will automatically renew for additional periods in accordance with Section 7.1. 5.5 Customer acknowledges that some of the features of the HelpSystems Software allow the Software to communicate with customer remotely over the Internet to (i) determine whether updates, improvements or patches are available, and if so, to authorize such updates, etc. provided to Customer (if any) and (ii) its technical support team to collect information to assist Customer in providing services to Customer. Some of these features can be disabled by the client in the administrator user interface.
