Free group coaching is offered each Sunday afternoon at Lucky Shoals at 1:30. The coaching sessions last 1 hour and 30 minutes. Petro Stirbu

Petro Stirbu is a USATT Regional Coach, an ITTF Level 2 Coach, and a PTT certified coach. Petro has been one of the top players at AGTTA for many years. Able to work with all levels of players and particularly with advanced players, Petro’s positive approach promotes focused improvement and an enjoyable experience.

Min-Kyun Kim

• Former Junior National Team member of South Korea.
• Former Korean Air professional player.

Yan Sherman

Yan is one of our most dedicated coaches and a favorite training partner for some of our top players. With an emphasis on technique, consistency, and creativity, Yan is able to assist new players with the skills they will need to be successful.

Jie Chang


Coach Chang has been volunteering his time and experience to the AGTTA coaching program for many years. He is able to work with beginner players as well as the most advanced. Group lessons introduce players to proper technique and footwork. Coach Chang is a USATT Regional Coach, ITTF Level 2 coach, and a certified Para Table Tennis coach. He has a USATT best rating over 2000.

Oscar Rodriguez


Oscar has been a member of AGTTA since 1985 when the club used to be located in Peachtree Hills!  That’s a long time ago!  He has learned the game from local legends Thomas Nunes, George Cooper, James Williams and many more.  Though still learning new shots every day, he has been fortunate to play Tournament Doubles against Jimmy Butler, Scott Butler and Michael Hyatt to name a few.  Oscar has attended Table Tennis Seminars held by highly esteemed national coaches like Scott Preiss and Richard McAfee.  Oscar’s style is an all-around game; from wicked slow loops to off-the-table chops.  Highest League Rating is 1859.

Playing 2-3 times a week, Oscar also enjoys coaching soccer locally with Tysa (F-Level License) and loves playing most sports including tennis, badminton and golf.  Passing on the great game of table tennis is a passion which he’ll do enthusiastically!

Stan Talifero


Years coaching:  30 years

  • 2 coaches camp at Colorado springs Olympic Training Center
  • 2- 2 week camps at Danny Seemiller Training center in Pittsburg
  • 3 week camp at Disney’s table tennis center in in Minesota
  • Personally trained by USTTA National coach Jeff Smart
  • 1 on 1 training with John Onifide 2560 and Srini Ramavasan 2532
  • 6 years with AGTTA as Director of Player  Development
  • 8 years with UGA   table tennis club   2004-2012

Coaching style: Attacking 1st-5th ball with emphasis on quality, speed, spin, placement, consistency and footwork
